Bicycles in the media

The aim of this project is to give the cycling community presence in the media. To do so, a series of interventions in the public space of Vienna with the participation of the cycling community will be organized. A series of riding choreographies will establish a dialog between the inhabitants, their transport means and the city. With the interventions, the riding community of Vienna would be able to reclaim the public space for the bicycles and stress the importance of the bicycle as a transport mean in the city.

To make the intervention a tool of self representation has been developed. One target of the project is to assemble 100 of this devices and distribute the among the people interested to collaborate. The devices have eight lights which generate patterns when they turn in the wheels, they also are connected through a wireless network which coordinates the patterns, creating a choreography with the city as a stage.
